Upon arrival at the inn, you will be received by friendly staff who will vividly describe Slovenian dishes from our menu. Good homemade soups, meat and venison dishes, steaks and even offal are just some of our special dishes, which you simply will not be able to resist. For all lovers of gourmet stews we have a special offer that you simply cannot refuse: Veal stew “Shepherd’s style”, “Baklca”, “Tržiške Bržole” (lamb stew known for Tržič), venison goulash are all extremely popular dishes. Since we are based on the principle of respecting different tastes, we prepare both delicious vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. A buckwheat omelet with cranberries and other homemade desserts will ensure a perfect dance of the different aromas.

The modern ambience conjures up coziness and warmth. In a room for up to 35 people you can celebrate unforgettable celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries. If you want to have fun until the early morning hours, you can also rent our picnic area with a log cabin. The picnic area is right next to the guesthouse on the edge of the forest and offers intimacy and the opportunity to extend the celebration with music until late into the night.

Welcome to our guest house and restaurant! Chef Damjan Štefe conjures up delicious dishes every day and our friendly team will be more than happy to advise you on the choice of your dishes.

10 Years of Tradition

Starting a guesthouse with a restaurant was anything but easy. The professional chef and young entrepreneur Damjan Štefe and his team took over what was then the old inn in September 2009, when most people in this part of Europe were rather cautious due to the economic crisis.

You could say that we literally “started over”. We were faced with a lengthy process, but we always had our goal to put “Karavla 297” on the culinary map of Slovenia.

We made an effort to prepare a range of dishes that corresponded to our geographic area. With great commitment, effort and joy in creating culinary masterpieces, we have mastered all challenges so far.

Years go by and so today we can look back on more than 10 years of tradition and are proud to have a base of regulars and satisfied customers and that a larger number of foreign guests and tourists stop by for lunch or refreshments.

What a wunderful place A family business. Everyone helps and is just friendly and happy about every guest (even if it is full, there is always a smile). The food is to die for - the steaks just perfect and clearly there are a lot of other great dishes (everything can be recommended). We are and we just like to come over. Since the space is limited and many people just want to eat at the same time ? is e.g. recommended on weekends. Thank you for all the wonderful time and surprises.

Fantastic food & very friendly stuff We visit this lovely quiet place in the middle of nature one, twice a year. Never, never, never were we dissapointed. Place is very domestic and good energy is felt all are areound. Great familly run restaurant. You can not order bad dish. Whatever you eat is delicious and very tastefull. This time venison plate vas extraordinary. 3 tipes of meat, a lot of vegatable and fantastic chees roulade and dumpling for side dish. But at the and chocolate cake beats it all. It is melting in ones mouth. Delicious. If you are not arround it is a must to come here just beacause of the experience of tasting these great food.

Food is good Amazing food, nice personel and beautiful place. Parking place and the feeling of home inside the restaurant. In summer you can sit outside on fresh air with a nice view.

Ausgezeichnet Wie immer ausgezeichnet. Das Beer Tartar ausgezeichnet, die klare Steinpilzsuppe eine Offenbarung. Sehr freundliches Service und der Chef kocht selbst ?

Ottima osteria tipica sulla strada x l'Austria Consigliato dal Gampling siamo venuti in questa tipica osteria x cena..poco illuminata e senza un insegna luminosa dalla strada l'abbiano trovata un po per caso..l'oste è stata molto gentile e disponibile:abbiamo preso un abbondante piatto misto di carne,contorni,gnocchi per due persone accompagnato con ottima birra Lasko ed infine uno squisito dolce al cioccolato..35euro in due ..ottimo

UNA CARNE FAVOLOSA Abbiamo provato questo ristorante su consiglio della padrona del bed and breakfast dove alloggiavamo, a 15 minuti dal ristorante. L'ambiente è rustico proprio come piace a noi, con pochi tavoli per favorire un'atmosfera intima. Nonostante questo il cibo è da ristorante stellato, non ho mai mangiato una carne così buona! Tanto che ci siamo tornati per tutte e due le sere che abbiamo alloggiato lì. La prima sera abbiamo mangiato gulash e filetto di cervo, qualcosa di meraviglioso. La seconda sera abbiamo mangiato spezzatino di cinghiale, ancora più buono del cervo! E zuppa di fagioli piccante con salsiccia, davvero deliziosa. Buonissime anche le zuppe di funghi e di brodo di carne. La cameriera che ci ha servito è stata molto gentile e simpatica, una nota di merito anche alla musica scelta ossia i Pink floyd, dei quali Siamo grandissimi fan?. Prezzo onestissimo per la qualità di cibo che abbiamo mangiato. Consigliatissimo

Keine 5 Sterne wert Die Bedienung war super nett. Das Ambiente urig und sauber. Preise sind ok... Jetzt kommt das aber. Die konsumierte Grillplatte für 2 war etwas wenig es gab dazu kein Gemüse jedoch Aivar Senf und ein paar Kartoffeln. Die Civapcici waren flachsig und dem Anschein nach nicht selbst gemacht. Auf der Karte sucht man auch vergeblich nach Calamari in allen Varianten. Das Fischangebot ansich ist eher mau. 3 Gerichte wenn es viel sind. Ich fand es jetzt nicht schlecht aber vom Hocker gerissen hats mich jetzt nicht.

Excellent food Very goood food, from starters to deserts. Ambient is great, staff is nice and nature arouond is beautiful. It's also great starting point for hiking and in winter for ski touring and sledding. Highly recommend.
